Star feature: The luxurious, relaxing surroundings- the hotel’s Moroccan and French Renaissance- inspired interior is brimming with character. Mandala itself has a soothing Eastern-inspired interior and on entering, I felt instantly at ease – this spa is an intimate hide-away.
Treatment: Mandala offers a very extensive list of holistic Eastern treatments from Thailand, India, Japan and China. I experienced the Balinese Massage, given by a Balinese practitioner, so authenticity of technique was definitely not in question! The full body treatment was very comprehensive and lasted over an hour – at one point the masseuse was on top of the bed to massage my back! I honestly didn’t want to experience to end, but, the consolation was the amazing way my body felt- for days after. After my treatment, I enjoyed a pot of herbal tea and a magazine in the relaxation area.
Overall verdict: For a luxurious, inner city getaway, La Stampa and Mandala Spa is a great choice for pure pampering indulgence.
